Why did you buy the car that you have now?

So I'm curious to know what was going through your mind when you chose to buy the car that you currently have now. Where you wanting the space, the luxury, the power, or did you just wing it & just so happen to find "the one"? I'd love to hear y'alls stories =D

Personally, I bought (well more like begged my rents lol) for a black and silver Monte Carlo SS bcuz I wanted more than anything to make it into my own Dale Earnhardt Edition Monte Carlo. I really wanted the superchager too but I would have been happy with a regular one, the S/C is just the cherry on top :D I chose the Monte Carlo bcuz I'm a huge NASCAR fan, I wanted a 2-door coupe, & I wanted luxury and power molded into one car :thumbup2

That's my short lil story, so who wants to go next :)

Well technically the only vehicle I own is a 1979 Ford E-350 Econoline Ambulance, and I bought it to tow my racecars.

The Bonneville is my girlfriends ( MissRockstar04 ) and I found it on a ford dealerships website, her 95' Toyota Camry took a crap and she neeeded a car, I wanted her to get something nice, FAST and reliable, and for less than $5800 out the door it did it all for a good price!

Well, I just stumbled on mine. Went looking for a new van for my wife, while she was looking I walked over and saw 3 cars I was interested in. When my wife was done, I said can I test drive those? He went in to get the keys and came out with one set. You wont even need the other keys, you'll love this one. I went and got in the SSEi. Sat down and my jaw dropped. My wife got in and sat down, looked around and said, your getting this car aren't you? I just nodded my head. Came back, wrote the man a check and drove home.

I was in an accident in February with my Grand Prix GT.. I'd love that car, I was searching for damn near everything that had a 3.8L Supercharged engine.. Had a couple of deals fall through and I seen this 2002 SSEi that was posted up in December for $8000, I seen that they still had it and they dropped down to $6500.. I drove it and was HOOKED.. I talked the dealer down to $5700 out the door.. And here I am now..

I had brought my 2005 LaCrosse CXL in to the Dealer for a computer reflash. While waiting I went to look at the new 06 Models on the Showroom floor and a friend who sold me the LaCrosse. And there in the corner with a $10,500 off placard on the windshield was my 2005 Bonneville GXP. It was the previous years showroom model and fully equipped. It was the last one they had and couldn't sell it for the sticker that was nearly $40,000. I asked my friend about it, and he said they had just put the discount up on it and was waiting for a lady who was interested in it to come back/call. I gave him my debit card and said, "Throw in the GMPP, give me Bluebook max tradein for the LaCrosse, and I'll take it" He went to see the Sales Manager and came back in 5 and told me to go out to the Service Dept and get anything I wanted out of the LaCrosse and he would be out to swap the plates. Drove the GXP home.

Test drove several cars starting about 2 weeks prior to my 18th birthday last July. Finally I wound up at the local Toyota dealer looking at used cars (mainly because my brother used to work there and I knew all of the cars on their lot are typically in good condition). Test drove both my Bonne and an 06 Grand Prix. I knew the GP would be good because my best friend has one exactly like it, only problem was the window price was 12k, the salesman told me the lowest he could go was 10K. Too much for me to handle the payments. The Bonne had a window price of 7.2K and the lowest he could go was 6.5K. Drove it once more, checked out everything (lights, brakes, controls, etc) and then asked the dealership if they could hold it. This was 10 days before my b-day. They agreed (only because they had already checked out my dad's credit) and on July 24th, the day after my b-day, I was driving off the lot with my new car. Ironically, my grandparents helped me secure the loan for it with a CD and so I was pulling off the lot behind them, in their 2005 LeSabre. Same exact car I was driving but with a different body and theirs is completely loaded.

Well lets see..

I have always liked the way bonnevilles looked. Love the 3800 motor as I had a 99 Monte Carlo Z34 some years ago and really liked the car. After having my Trans Am's, Camaro's and other unpractical vehicles I had to get into something more practical.

Was orginally moving out to Nevada in the Mountains where it snows by the feet so I got rid of my Camaro for a 2006 Trailblazer..gave her some nice wheels/Big A/T tires, and a bunch of other goodies and ended up moving to S/W Florida after it was all said and done.

A 4x4 SUV that I averaged 16 mpg in just wasnt practical and I needed something with space, better on gas, and good looks. (well good enough to start with.. I played a part in the rest ;) )

Saw the bonneville online on the east coast at a large Cadillac dealer, called them up and said will you write ME a check for my vehicle if I take the bonneville off your hands..brought it in, worked out a great deal, got me a nice check.. and the rest is history.. Going on 1 year of ownership now..if I hold out another year I will be at the longest I have had a vehicle for out of my past 13 vehicles.. we shall see.

Just wish it had a V8..supercharged 3800 would be nice too, but I am a V8 Addict..

EGT = FUN

Bonneville = car big enough to hold 3 kids while being comfortable and gets good mileage.

The sunroof quit in my 99 SLE, and I had been having strange electrical happenings, so I decided to start hunting for a new car. My step dad is a car salesman and I had him looking for Audi A4's, but he hadn't found the right one yet. Then one day he called me in to look at a car that just came in, he said I had to see it. 03' SSEi, belonged to the mother of the dealerships mechanic, mint condition. Instantly fell in love and told him we were going for a test drive. The look on his face when the pedal hit the metal sealed the deal.
