When you think you've seen everything....
I am tearing down a 1995 L36 in an Olds 88. It's closing in on the 200k mile mark, and was losing coolant. Pulled the upper as it was the typical suspect and what do I find? Well, the stove pipe hole was burned through into a coolant port of course. Guess what I didn't find..... anywhere.... The EGR stovepipe. It would seem that the last person to work on this vehicle removed the stovepipe entirely and did not replace it. How odd....

It's not stuck up into the intake like a sleeve? Highlanders did that to him. Apparently it came loose.
We didn't notice it up there until Bob D said..."why'd you send me a sleeved one?" |
Must have looked like the UIM we got from the junk yard Bill.

I think so...
Bob D turned that one into a no coolant one if I remember right. |
No, it is not stuck. It is non-existant!
