I love my Pontiac.

It'* my Time Machine.

I bought it new 29 years ago and it looks like the day I bought it but drives a lot better.

When I sit in it something magical happens.

It'* like a mental transfiguration back to 1979.

I pop in a disc from the time era and WHAM, I'm there.

Turn the key and start it up and all of a sudden my arthritic joint aches are history.....or should I say future .

Press down on that loud pedal to hear all 6.6 liters rumble with that muscle car growl and I'm thinking about kissing some 25 year old. (edited to satisfy some sensitive members )

Where'* my old 78 Dodge Diplomat? :(

:o Oh, yeah I still have it (got it back) but a standard issue 318 replaced the police issue 360. Also has a few wrinkles on the body that are courtesy of my uncle and his tractor.

My 1978 lebaron had a 318 but connected to Lean Burn electronics what a disaster. I am sure the 6.6 has none of that lean burn crap.

Well, they both 'had' it, but I got rid of that system fast after having the lean burn 'computer' go bad twice in a year. Found it ran a LOT better too without the lean burn, not to mention better throttle response and more power, especially from the 360. The lean burn system was removed from the 318 before it was installed.

When I see a wrecked black 2-door coupe 93 Sentra, I think back to two years ago. Listening to Chevelle, Audioslave, or Smashing Pumpkins as I hear one of those Sentras rumble by with a 1.8L Nissan engine and a rusted off exhaust manifold so all the ricer noise is right there in the engine bay brings me back to driving to work on cold mornings with the most absurd traffic and no heat because I don't appreciate inhaling exhaust fumes. I think your flashbacks are better.
