Default Whips - atleast it is not a scraper!

Vehicles -- wheels, as they were once called -- are now whips. ''Have you seen Joe'* new whip? It'* a stretch Hummer.'' An ordinary car is called a ride, while a large passenger car out of style or otherwise low on prestige is not a whip, but a scraper.

Scraper refers to a cheaper fullsize sedan, generally 3800 powered buicks/bonnevilles/olds

I just looked it up.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=scraper

A Scraper is a late 80'* to late 90'* General Motors made (affordable) luxury car with rims so big (20-22") that the tires rub the inside of the fender and frame. The most common Scraper is made by Buick and includes Regals, Centurys, Park ave'*, and Le Sabres. Oldsmobile Cutlass, Cutlass Supreme'*, and 88'* as well as Pontiac Bonnevilles, and the ugliest one of all, a Chevy Lumina are all considered Scrapers when ridin' on 20'*. Slap in the trunk is a must, but the tint, whistle and suction tips, dvd screens, and candy paint is all optional. The way you set your **** up seperates your whip from all the other scrapers out there. That'* why you will probably never see 2 identical Scrapers.

I jus' flipped some dubs for my Regal, now my **** is an official scraper.

i still don't get the reference to Whip for a car. to me it'* kind of like replacing a dog with lamp.

as in

"Did you see that guys 'lamp'? sure was a mean one"

Not to get off topic, but the Bonneville wasn't exactly cheap. Mines a 93 w/almost no options and it was almost $24,000.

i always thought the term whip was to say that the car is the person'* way of asserting themselves, probly started because of people who invest more money into their car than theirhomes or anything else
