I read that the 2004 Grand Prix is getting the third-gen 3800 engine. Saw that the */C version is now up to 260hp (new Eaton blower I guess). The GT1/GT2 are also listed as getting a series III engine, but no noticable gain in HP, still 200, same as Series II.

The '04 GP looks DAMN good.

At least one persong thinks so...lol I do like whats under the hood, but it kinda reminds me of a Grand Am, that has been strecthed and put on steriods.

Some of the hardcore GP fans might disagree, but its like anything, change is not usually welcome. Take a look at BMW, very rarely do they change the styling of the cars, for example, my favorite the 7 Series, it achieved perfect in 2001, so, what did they do, they totally changed it.

Now the new one is growing on me, similar to the Bonnevilles...a decade ago fans of my model style screamed and kicked when GM introduced the new body style. We all adapt. Evantually we with accept the new hybrid GA/GP and accept it

Just don't tell the GP fans that have the 97-03 style

I like the engine and front end of the new GP'*. The rear is a little different, but I can get used to it...because its a Pontiac!

I have to disagree with this one. The best ones to me are th '97-'03'*. After those body styles, there isn't pretty much getting any better. The new cars doesn't even hug the ground anymore.

When they changed styles from the 88-91 (for the 92 model year), my dad and I were really disappointed. "Back it into a brick wall to make it look better" was something that even the salesperson said... I think the newest generation of Bonneville is good however. But, for its day, the 88-91 series wasFAR ahead of its time, both in looks and features.

I drove a 99 GP GT the other day. Engine-related performance was great (well, 3800 - go fig) but i was disappointed with the handling - might just be my dislike for the Magnasteer since it was fine on the highway but in the city.....

Here'* my question. Why is the Series III N/A still have 200hp? Also I was wondering how the 3400'* came equipped with a 215hp torque( I forgot) and the 3800 come with 200-205 hp N/A and only 225-230 torque?

Hey it'* not covered in that horrible plastic ridging that that GA up there has. I think it looks nice, and it'* performance for that price is Astounding!

Good q. I would *assume* that the third gen 3800 N/A would have had more than 200hp. Anyone have any ideas?
