no sir, I've suffered from a bad case of lazy eye (exotropia is the medical term) and because of that, only being able to focus my vision one eye at a time (basically could see out of both at the same time, but was only able to focus out of one). So last Friday, the surgeon realigined and tightened all the main muscles around the eyes under general anesthesia. For the first time in almost 34 years, when I woke up, I actually had "stereo" or focused vision out of both eyes. The main test for me came on Tuesday when the wife and I ventured over to Best Buy to window shop. I had asked the salesperson if their store had a 3D TV setup for view (one negative about exotropia is that I was never able to see any images in 3D, whenever I put those funny plastic glasses on, they were basically rendered useless). They did, so I walked over to their Magnolia center, found the setup they had, adjusted the glasses to my height, looked in, and WOW, HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!! The picture was jumping out at me in actual 3D!!!!! I almost started to scream at the top of my lungs in excitement because I had never been able to experience something like that before. But most importantly, ever since I was five years old, on top of people constantly correcting me that I wasn't looking at them when I was talking to them (in reality only one eye was), I've never been able to take a "nice" profile picture because one or the other eye was constantly turned, now it'* just a matter of letting my eyes heal before I start being in photos the way the man upstairs intended me to be : )

Nice Thread Raptor. And for giving God His due for the change in your life. I have my great wife of 3 years for helping turn an alcoholic/pain meds junky back into a more moderate man on all counts. More toys than I can play with in a day. Knowing God a little more each day and not fearing death as I spent much of my life. Family from previous marriages that have forgave and forgot. A life away from the hustle and bustle of large Cities I've lived and worked in. Retiring early. And ya, a fantastic Forum Owner that brought the place out of the ashes and let me re-fashion it. Did I mention a Staff both loyal, friendly, and knowledgeable. Probably the best Thanksgiving in 56 years for me. Life is calm, and makes sense. It doesn't get much better.

Some days its hard to be thankful. Some days I think god ignores me, and some days I just want a new life. But when you actually sit down and think, ACTUALLY THINK..... There is alot to be thankful for. This woman I have is just everything to me. I was heading down a horrible path. And because of some miracles in disguise and finding her I have become a man.

In my Theology and mind, God never ignores. But allows free will and the immense unpredictability of it. And in my life for sure, allowed/caused events that shaped my present with a past I did not understand at that time. I think it is best to reflect where you have been, both good and bad, and it becomes easier to accept things as they come. You say things are much better in the present, keep that in your thinking, and live life taking the twists and turns in stride.

hmm at my best friends father funeral(passed of lung cancer this summer at age 66) there was a story on the projector it said

A young man speaks with god and god promises he will never leave his side and always be with him...
Then when the man passes he meets with god at the pearly gate as they recap his life and he has been seeing two set of footprints... his and the lords..Then he notices that at times there is only one set of footprints and they happen to be during the low struggling parts of his life..He turns to god and says i thought you would never leave my side how could you leave me to myself in the worst parts of my life...God responds''My son the single set of footprints was not yours they were mine from wich the times i carried you''

Man i read that at least 20 times over and over and each time it got to me but i see that it is in fact true because no matter how bad things get they will always get better'

No matter how it seems at times he is always there although sometimes it may feel as if
