My Winter Project - - Updated
I got myself a winter project... my brother who was in a snowmobile accident in January of 2003 in a coma for 8 months and now lives in a brain injury rehab (WEAR HELMETS ALWAYS!!!!!!), used to be all about things that went fast; snowmobiles, cars, trucks, and yes... lawnmowers. His prized possesion was his Crafstman Riding Lawnmower that he raced in two races and won in one, but lost the other only because the wheel fell off and he rolled it.
I have decided to try and redo his lawnmower, make it run great, and look damn good too.
Here are some pics of it (it has been sitting outside in michigan weather for 4 years)
I am probably going to have to do some serious work to get it even running let alone racing.
The "theme" it'* going to be is Coors Light. My brother was a nascar fan #40 Coors Light was his favorite. And all he drank was Coors Light.
I have it sitting in the garage right now, im trying to make room, so that i can work on it but we have a one car garage with one car and a **** load of stuff in it
These were the best pics i could get with it sitting where it was...

One wheel, the other on the seat the front fenders are bent too

The one wheelie bar... the other rusted off and yes it does need wheelie bars!

The Sweet Bart Simpson on the hood...

you can see here the sweet coors light bottle cap remover too, its going right next to the steering wheel
Like i said I got a lot of work to do on it... sand it down, try and fix some rust, fix some body panels that got bent when it was rolled, prime, paint, and decals. And thats just the body, i don't even know how bad the engine is going to be. I havn't tried starting it, i have to find a battery first.
Im looking for some #40 decals too, and i have some other ideas im going to try and incorparate into it. One is i want to make a Coors Light Tap handle as the shifter ****...
Well what do you guys think of my sweet project?

Well time to dust off an old topic...
I had planned on this being my winter project, but my mom wanted to use the garage to park her car in so i couldn't use it for this. But today i got back to working on it. Got a lot accomplished...
Tried to get it started and couldn't so pulled it out and started ripping into it. Discovered it needs a new head gasket. and a damn good cleaning.
Started ripping apart the front end, because i had no steering. After getting the front end pulled off ran into a snag, because the front end is shot. I had an old Massey-Ferguson sitting in the back yard so i tried to see if there was some way I could get that front end to work but its not going to work. So now i have to see if i can find a new front end for it.
Now on to the pics...

Looks good so far. I'm thinking you may want to post up the parts you need here and ....who knows what we have laying around in our yards or behind our sheds that is considered junk to us..
