I've been wondering about that, do you use the plastic Hoppy brand? Or is there something better you'* guys are holding out on us?

HA! you are the people I laugh at when you are working on your car in the parking lot for 15 minutes when there is 1/4" of ice on your windshield.

I have a metal blade scraper, gets thru ANYTHING.

Remember................

I'm in the Southland. We don't get that much windshield ice
About the only thing we get is a heavy layer of frost

I want to see a picture of you holding that uparrowblinking.gif up to your car window.

As the title of the thread states, I am curious to know what the northern members use on their cars since they actually get to deal with ice on a regular basis. I already know what is used in the southern climate. If I was curious about skating rinks I would have asked on a hockey forum.

I'm sure it does a great job clearing the ice, but doesn't the metal tend to scratch the windshield?[/img]

Thank god for garages.

I normally use a plastic scraper and if the ice is thick, I use the blunt end and break the ice up.

First I brush the snow off, then spray a Deicer on the windshield, let it sit, then I scrape whatever is left on there and hit the windshield wipers.

Just your conventional scraper, wooden construction with a brush on one side and plastic scraper on the other.
