Was this suppose to be a cross from a Grand Prix and a Bonneville?

No! This was just the Top of the Line Bonneville in its day. I believe that you could only get the Bonneville Convertible in this trim level. The Grandville name existed from 1971 thru 1975. I also believe that 1975 was the last year for a Bonneville(Grandville) Convertible.

Actually, the Grandville came in convertable, two door hard top, four door hard top, and four door sedan. The Convertables are featured on that webpage, but hard tops were more common.
