I had weather bug on my computer years ago and it turned out to be a 'bug' in itself.

So....I should maybe start another thread but kinda sick of gmail to.

Thoughts on email providers?

I'm cleaning house on my laptop and looking for suggestions...again

Thanks

Your best and most secure email provider is the one that comes with your internet provider in conjunction with Outlook. I use gmail for social crap, but pay my bills and buy things through my providers email address. You never know how secure 2nd party email providers are, do you want to pass along your credit card numbers and details through these? I dont think so. I care less about their claims of privacy. Even Facebook just got their foot slammed in the privacy door. They were caught sharing and selling alot moe than they were 'fessing up to.

I recently started using Firefox again and I like it. It'* fast. I also like the "read it later" add-on. One click saves a page that you can come back to later. Much easier than bookmarking with a few other options. I used to use Mozilla'* Thunderbird for email but that was so long ago I really can't speak on it. I just go with Outlook for home and my laptop and Gmail or my internet provider website (lets me check voicemail) when I'm on the road. I also like Yahoo widgets for weather but I don't allow it to startup with windows. I only run it manually when I need weather or a quick peek at my calendar.

Fire fox. I don't know of anything better. Con, if you aren't tech savvy and know how to set up the features, it get'* annoying with firewalls. But, the rest are pros- faster, safer, more user friendly.

Thank god my husband lives and breathes computers- I just want them to work the way they're supposed to the first time, and never mind the details ha.

I've been using "Safari" by apple and have found it to be a good web browser. its quick and hasn't slowed my computer down and it has an easy to use interface.

I am using an older laptop for school and it only has 512 mb of memory. As a result I have been taking note of which programs use a lot of memory. Safari was one of the worst. It slowed everything down. Runs fine on the desktop. But then the laptop vs desktop thing is a whole other can of worms.

I have an iMac and use Firefox. I have used Safari on occasiona, but I'm not that thrilled with its performance and user interface.

I have two mini-netbooks and then my work laptopt that are running W2K and I'm using IE on both of them. The W2K OS is a better platform for IE and I have not had any problems with them.

I have my backup laptop that has Vista and IE 7 and it'* more about the OS, but that'* is a reason why I switched to the netbook.
