what to do with trans i have laying around

i have got rid of both L67 short blocks that i had sitting around to clear up some space, but i still have 2 transmissions laying in my garage... roommates are looking to have a farily big halloween party and i dont want ppl tripping over a trans. the first one is the one out of my 95 ssei, a 4t60e-hd, and has the terrible WOT 1-2 but still shirts and drives fine under normal driving conditions, the other, out of my 00 ssei, a 4t65e-hd, is about 50% disassembled, and the plan was to use it as a core if i ever need to do another rebuild... what are the chances?

are these worth anything to anyone?

I could use a 3.06 diff if you have it.

Would the 95 4t60 work with a 97 car with no problems? If so, what is the dif ratio and how much to buy it outright?

I'm assuming you're talking about bens car..but I don't think you can mate an HD transmission to a L36. Like I said, I think but I'm not positive. It may be possible that the electricals won't work either.

MyLittleBlackBird 09-26-2006 11:35 AM

I could understand the electricals being different, but I would doubt it. I vaguely recall checking and comparing a 65 to Ben's 60 a while ago and they were the same(from what I saw). The one thing I do know is that an L36 and L67 torque converters are different. I would not need the torque converter though.... Yes it would be for an L36, but I'm not saying who's...

They'll bolt up

The TC's are a different size though I think.

If the tranny being replaced just needs a beefed up rebuild or something, you can get an HD conversion kit through INTENSE.

Okay cool. Like I said, don't need the TC. I can't really just buy a HD kit to beef up the one already in use. This is sorta a side project.... What'd the FDR and how much? Can you ship it or does it have to be picked up?

P.S. What do you mean it

?? I never knew a transmission "shirted". So what is this? It both confuses and arrouses me.

As a side note, I'm told they bolt up, but the electronics ARE different between the HD and non-HD 4T60's.... Most likely something that can be tuned for.

both trannies are spoken for... cool!
