i was always taught to keep them apart. either way, id prefer to aire on the side of caution. she drives the hell out of her car. a day at work usually involves driving about 50-75 miles from home. dont want to drive that far to replace a sparkplug wire. lol.

I got to work on the RX7 this weekend. As expected the gas was horrid and cause a lot of problems. I guess it'* been sitting since 07 so I had to pump the bad fuel out of the tank and fill it with new premium fuel. It still wouldn't start so I sprayed some starting fluid at it and it tried to fire telling me it had spark. I did a injector balance test and 7 of the 8 injectors were stuck shut. So I pulled the injector rail and cleaned and soaked the injectors in WD40. The next day I made a harness and was able to use my drill battery to energize the injectors and see if they clicked. With more cleaning and lots of gentle tapping I finally got them all to start firing. Today I reinstalled the injectors and boom! She runs again. I think it has a big cam in it because whoever set the programming has the idle set at 1000 RPM and I wasn't able to look at missfire data so I think that must be disabled as well. It has a bunch of header bolts missing and needs some general tiding up and I hope to take it for a rip around the block before I take it back to my coworker.

Glad you got the 7 fired up. Sitting for 8 years not good. Why did it sit that long?
Anyways, hope to hear about the rip around the block, take a video if ya open it up!

My coworker'* husband isn't from California and didn't realize how strict the smog laws are here. Once he found out how much it was going to cost to make it smog legal he kind of lost intrest and it just sat in the garage. Now his wife is going to be able to register it in Texas since they are a military family.

Well it had been way too long since I'd given Bonne a thorough hand wash, way, way too long! Even here in SC it accumulates winter grime, it was filthy everywhere, even inside the trunk lid, door sills, gas fill door, every nook and cranny. My excuse has been the weather, been in actuality it'* probably because I'm old and lazy.

It really is best throughout the winter to wash the cars a few times to keep the salt/grime & slime at bay.
Opening the doors/trunk/hood etc and giving even a quick soapy power wash does keep rust at a minimum. Leave it too long...well that can be a different story.
I tend to do the Pk Ave good once every few weeks and use a soap & sponge everywhere.
I like a good shine...Not Grime ha ha..

Have three major cracks in the 2001SSEi HUD windshield; did not realize how many rocks get kicked up driving in AZ, never had a windshield crack prior to living in AZ.
The windshield having a HUD raises the cost at Safelite to a base replacement cost of $430. Wish I knew how to get the rate the insurance companies get from Safelite. Hate to spend $430 on a windshield on a vehicle worth $500........ Not saying I don't love my Bonneville... it is just at the end of its life.

Don't use the SSEi version of windshield. Tell them to use the SE version.
I had that happen to me a few years ago when I replaced the one in my 95 Bonneville. Insurance told me not to ask how much more expensive it is for the SSEi glass.
