I think Ill wait untill that person discloses the information. Perhaps they wanted to keep it secret until they left. I thought it was public knowledge, but Ill act my age for a change and keep it on the low down. By the way all of yall are welcome. We got room.

Nope its not always hot. Not always humid. However lets put it like this. I came from California. I used to not sweat much, when I got here I first felt like I was working out harder or something because I was seriously sweating. ( gross huh)

It is humid, but its bearable. It'* better than when I lived in Arizona, South of where Echo lives. Holy Bat guano, it got 118 there. I can remember my shoes getting that sticky feeling on the sidewalk.

Winters can be ruff. Some years you have serious ice.

Whats bad is the storms and tornado'*. I was close to one and never want to be again. Windows started flexing and bowing, I thought they were gonna blow. You have to have a central "safe room" in your house to ride one out. Out here we make a closet or a pantry in the center of the house on purpose. Then we beef it up.

Why did I move to Texas? The girls here were hotter than California. For real. Met my hot wife here. Oh yeah!!

Yeah.. It might be me. And about 2 weeks from moving into a house I'll need to either sell or just not live in and pay for for.

I've mentioned a few times that I own a large datacenter in New York that services some very large fortune 500 and fortune 1000+ companies with services ranging from simple cold backups and disaster recovery to hot site, "live hosting". An opportunity presented itself about 4 months ago to acquire a large competitor based in Dallas, Texas. I've been holding my cards close to my chest because I didn't believe the deal was going to go through at the price my partners and I were willing to pay (Approximately 8% below what we believed our competing buyer was offering). Papers are currently floating between lawyers as I type this. (This is what I've been up to the last few weeks Bill :?)

Nothing is definate at this point regarding my own fate. The integration is going to be massive and I have to be the one spearheading the effort. I'm heading to Milwaukee to meet thier management team, and from there, I'm spending a day over on site so I can assess the team on the ground at the other end before I return home.

I've always been a leader who runs things from the front; product of having a drill sergeant for a father so I will more than likely be uprooting my wife and I for at least a year, if not longer to make sure the transition goes smoothly. I'm going to have to shmooze alot of big oil companies, and make sure I don't lose more than the usual 10% or so attrition that occurs from mergers like this one.

I'm a river boy, having spent my whole life in the Hudson Valley region of New York, going to be a difficult transition. Incidently this is the reason why I haven't bought a car as much as I want to pick one up at this point.

On the plus side, I'm about to double my company'* revenue stream while opening ourselves up to a whole new class of opportunities. We're actually considering building an "Inktomi" style border network for large content providers in the next 5 years. All this while remaining a privately held company.

On the negative side.. Its freaking Texas! (Sorry James)

Anyway, more to come. I still haven't decided if I need to make this move or not. Annalisa is pissed off as all hell, though she understands why I'm throwing myself into the fire. You have a dream and you live the dream, or its not worth going to sleep at night at all.
