Came home this weekend and picked up my new car. Very nice for a base model. SMOOOOTH, silky smooth drivetrain and ride. I hate to say it but she rides better than Charlotte did. I didn't want to go import but at least it's not Japanese, and all the pontiacs in the price range are girl cars, the chevys are all plain looking, dodge caliber is just a cheap looking toy, and nothing else caught my eye. I miss my bonnie alot but I needed something that I know either wont break or will be covered if it does. (Can't beat 10/100,000). Got 26 mpg all the way back up to auburn, which is pretty good since the engine isn't broken in yet and I was averaging 80 the whole way. I actually passed the plant that made the car(in Montgomery) on my way back up so that was kinda cool. Anyways I'll always love my Bonnevilles but at least the thing is a good little car.

Very nice. I have always liked Hyundais and Kias. Very well built, compared to the piles they were making in the late 80s/early 90s.

3.3 V6 or the 2.4 4 cyl? Even if it's just the 4 cyl, they still make decent power (160? hp). 8)

My dad owned a '02 Kia Optima LX V6, very nice car, was very peppy, and had absolutely no problems with it whatsoever. He should have never traded it in. :(

Oh just the 2.4. It moves the car without any trouble, haven't floored it too much since there are only 500 miles on it but Its no powerhouse, even with that tiptronic shifter. The only thing I'll be doing to it is tinting the windows and installing a carputer. I'd modify it but its a 4 banger so it's hopeless, plus it would void that wonderful warrantee.

Still haven't decided what to call her, not Charlotte II, thats a bonneville thing, I'm thinking this car is a Sandra.

What can I say, it's hard to move on.

5 sp AT?

Nice ride, if i may ask, how much? Mileage seems a bit low IMO, but maybe it's just too tight. You are right though, not much from the Big three is worth it for less then 20-25k in small-mid car segment. The Aura/Malibu, and Fusion are the only ones really IMO..

I'm thinking it was around 16-17k, my folks did all the work since I'm up here, they haven't told me how much they paid since it's kind of a late graduation gift. I just know it had 25 miles on it when they drove it off the lot.

nice car for a Hyundai. never was a Kia or Hyundai guy. they're made from recycled metal. remember the commercial?.....buy a Kia get a Rio for free. LOL. always made me laugh with their disposable cars. but i have been seeing some sweet looking Sonata's lately! anyways....congrats on the new car.
