it'* a sin if you burn the pcb and have no ability to make it work when it'* urgent and you don't have the right tool available.

I have more talent than I admit to many days. The work was two pins. They looked like I used a fine tipped pcb iron.

I dunno how you can say it'* a sin... you got crimpy connectors in your box. !!!!!!!

I've got them on my car too! Used on the headlights and fog lights from the bumper swap. Speakers in the trunk and the switched power from the radio. Nothing exceptionally sensitive. Not every wire needs to be soldered.

I don't agree there, unless the wire should have a seperable connector on it. Crimp on and tap ins are as much of a sin and mistake for ever being invented...just like my Dad'* 3100.

Oh wait.. you like the 3100 too. Gee Jon...I dunno bout you now

Say hello to my little friend..

By far my favourite tool. I laugh when I see someone pull out there fine point soldering stick, plug it in, and let the wait begin. 260/200 watts gets the job done.

I thought I was styling with 100/140 in the same gun. Afterall.. soldering 10 gauge in high wind outdoors is pretty good. I like your flair for overkill.

Go big or go home :P

Actually they only run $60 or so, and was well worth it. Back when I was at the audio store I was doing a lot of soldering 10/12 gauge for subs, and was making quick work of those 20 gauge remote start wires. I entered the shop a crimper and left a year later a die hard solderer.

i cant believe the blasphemy going on here, i got over 200k on my 2.8 CS and 300k on my 3.1 GP never had any engine or head gasket issues. the engines were the only things that worked at that point though.
