Clunking noise when turning
Hi guys. I have 97 Transport van. About 3 months ago, I replaced both front wheel bearings. Immediately after that, I started hearing a clunk noise whenever the wheel is turned right or left. No problem driving straight or curving, but only when turning like 90 degrees. If I make a slower than normal turn, sometimes there is no noise.
My wife took the van to a mechanic and they said that 2 inner sockets are loose. What the heck are inner sockets? Can they be tightened, or something needs to be replaced?
BTW, I have sprayed lithium grease on the 3 upper strut mount bolts and made sure that they are tight. I also jacked the car up, and tried to move the wheel at 9-3 and 12-6 positions, and checked other components for play or visual problems. All look good to me.
Also, about 3 weeks after the wheel bearing change (not immediately), my ABS/TC light came on and now turns on instanteneously or almost immediately after starting the van. I know that needs to be scanned, but maybe it is something related? Already tried cleaning the WSS connectors.
I am hoping that the Bonneville gurus can help me troubleshoot another Pontiac problem!

My Bonneville did that for like 8 months. When I took it in for our annual safety inspection, he said it needed the ball joints for the strut mounts and an inner tie rod end.
When these were fixed the problem stopped. Not sure which one actually caused the problem, but that should give you an idea of what you need to look at.

Those mechanics are horrible, IMO. (For those familiar, it is Canadian Tire). I'll probably take it to someone else.
The CV boots are fine, and there is no noise driving straight or curving. Would a bad CV joint not cause that?
