need desperate help recovering pics from memory card

need desperate help recovering pics from memory card
o.k every one i am so sad and i feel like i need to bang my head on the wall... i have a sony 1 gb memory pro duo stick and i have my son'* first (1) birthday pics and short video on there from dec 18th and my christmas pics of my son and daughter with 2 short christmas video'* and i cant retrieve them off my memory stick.. it keeps showing blank images when i put the card in my laptop . and when i put the card in the camera it ask me to reformat the card.. and if i reformat the card i will loose all pics and vids..
can some one tell me how to fix this or better yet if someone can almost gaurentee me they can retrieve my photo'* then i can offer to pay some money for your time and help..
i am a grown man but i would cry if i have to loose my sons first b-day pics and christmas pics... thanks 88bonnsse... i'll be online all night so holla at me... thanks.

The first thing I'd try is copying all the files on it (corrupt or not) to a new folder on your laptop, then try to access them from there. If that doesn't work, try scandisk or something else on the card. If that fails, it'* a loss.

what i would do is put your memory stick back into your camera and then plug your camera into your computer. From there you can search in the E or I drive and be able to access your pics. Then just copy the folder with the pics and videos on it to your hard drive.

but what is scandisk.? and would i have to download a program from some where to try the second part your talking about.. thanks alot i really appericate it.. dont know why the card is acting like this.....

There are very good programs that should be able to recover the pictures. Lexar Image Rescue & Sandisk Rescue Pro are the two that I have. If you can wait till tomorrow we'll come up with a plan. If you want to try it tonight there are some free programs you can try. Ask the guys over at the Popphoto.com forums which ones to use.
