A version of the 3800 never made, why not?

Nothing good or bad about adding a super or turbo-charger. Just a different way to get more air into an engine. Same as adding DOHC 4 valve cylinder heads. Could just as easily say "Good engines don't need DOHC'* either". Or any kind of OHC. Just a different means to the same end.

I certainly don't hold it against Porsche or Mercedes for adding turbos to their cars.
No I agree I am just saying I would like manufacturers to make more N/A high power engines rather than just shoving a turbo or supercharger on a old or aging design for power

I only need one reason to embrace the DOHC ways

They make anything more effecient. I wouldn't just slap one on every engine, but more should be designed with them IMO.

Just a different tool for a different job.[/b]
3800 isn't the best when noise/smoothness is concerned, the 2.0T ecotec makes 260HP, and could do even more then the flatline torque curve of 260lb/ft easily.
