Hmmmmmm, you have a point. I do have a weak spot for burgers, fries, and fast food in general.

"We'll take 4 Double Meat Whoppers, 4 Supersize Fries, 4 X-Large Shakes, and all your used frying oil. Don't make us go Rambo on your Cholesterol peddling azzes!

Bio fuel is a perfect example of idea'* that don't cut it. Using Corn moves it out of affordable food stock chain and starves the masses. And just how many vehicles can exist on Fast Food Chains. A couple of eccentirc guys here and there who wander through their town with translucent square jugs begging for the stuff. I hear the smell of the exhaust gives ya the munchies.

Obviously I wasn't implying vegetable oil as a widespread solution but its already been used for its initial purpose so why not power our battle wagon with it?

And a Good choice! But damit, the sky is clearing, looks like my bike ride is a Go, and now all I can think is BK. I was considering a nice ride in the country. Now changed to going into town for a lunch my arteries don't need. DoubleMeat Whopper w/Cheese and crispy Fires,.... here I come.

To my original post, no I doubt the numbers are skewed in those predictions, they seem to match any other realistic figures I have ever seen. But, just saying, there is also the alarmist aspect of this report too. Meaning, they want to profit on the hysteria involved. We as a nation, along with many others are shifting away from fossil fuel dependence slowly but surely, and we are reaching a point where our consumption will begin declining rapidly, the problem of course is the developing world, however I assure you that once shortages hit, they will be the first to feel those shortages. We still have the political power that it takes to get more than our fair share if we want it. Then, even after that, there is a lot of reserve oil in North America. Enough to run the world for many, MANY, years according to most reliable estimates. Canada is sitting on top of one of the biggest, if not THE biggest reserve in the world, the only problem there is that the infrastructure it would take to use that oil would not and could not be in place in time for the "projected" shortages, same problem with our offshore reserves.

I'll be dropping a 4bt into my explorer one of these days, forget those wannabe green tards who keep trying to say ethanol is a green fuel or reduces dependence on foreign oil. Biodiesel is where it is at.

Yes it was. And a fine break in what turned out to be a great ride. 950 CC'*, 4 valves per cylider, and EFI. My new Cruiser gets near 60 MPG if I'm not burning up the highway.
