i love freebies too!!!!
it has a new tranny new alt. new cap and rotor new plugs new plug wires!!!!! that was all put on before i got it for free!!! only problem is that it needs a head gasket... leaking outside the block not into the oil!!!

the sticker under the hood says 5.0 liter engine, but i've had a truck identical to this one and it has the 5.7.... 200,XXX miles on it

That BODY was used half way through the 99 model year (you could get both styles in 92). The last EXCLUSIVE year for that body and frame was 98.
The 5 liter (305) was a good motor. You'll do fine with it once you take care of the little things.
