An unlikely place to find beauty
 

I spent the afternoon helping my lady at her work,did lunch and had a few laughs. On my way home I am driving in the Bonnie through some rolling green meadows that have bison grazing and A John Deere off in the distance doing whatever. I look to the east and see the horizon is a navy blue color fading into a pink slightly cloudy sky and there is a full moon sitting what looks to be about 3 feet above the tree line. I look to the west and see a heavily wooded tree line that gives way to a peach colored sky fading into baby blue and directly above me the baby blue and pink are blending together with some stars in the back ground. Sorry I had no camera with me, but it looked like Robert Frost meets Hallmark for a postcard perfect scene. The irony is I was driving on a road the cuts through Shelby County of Corrections and FCI Memphis. the last 2 places in this area that anyone wants to be. Its not often you get to see the simple things in life as being beautiful but this was one of those moments.

in late september i left work in the pouring rain. i was almost hesitant to pick up some needed groceries because the rain was such a heavy downpour. i came out of the store and saw the largest double rainbow i have ever seen. i actually tried to capture it with my cell phone with no real success:
