Great Movies
My pick for the week is Lawrence of Arabia. Had to watch it this week for a paper I had to do on it. Wow, what a great film! Treat yourself if you haven't seen it Just make sure to leave yourself enough time; the movie'* in two parts, and both are a solid two hours each! Anyways, I'd suggest watching any of the AFI'* Top 100 movies; The ones from the list I HAVE seen were great. Remember: just because it'* old doesn't mean it isn't good Their site is AFI.com Speaking of movies, what are all your picks for great/favorite movies?

I think we've had similar threads, so everyone knows, my favorite movie of ALL TIME, is "Gone With the Wind". But other then that, I pretty much like every movie I've ever seen except "Cabin Fever" (yucky).

Well, my post was more in the direction of "best movie EVER" Lawrence of Arabia is one of the best I've ever seen. Doesn't even feel like it'* 4 hours long; I almost wanted it to be longer! Gone with the Wind is higher on that list, though. Another great movie there

The Abyss- It has everything a guy could ask for, Ed Harris, Nukes, Submarines, Aliens, Explosions, Nudity (be it brief and of a semi-dead chick). A crazy special forces guy. And special effects galor (for its time). What more could you ask for? It even had a "Giant Water Probe"!
The Deer Hunter is an excellent war movie that is overlooked. It portrays the different types of casulties in war really well. Robert De Niro, Christopher Walken. Comes in next to Hamburger Hill and Full Metal Jacket.

Speaking of The Abyss, The Sphere was really good, if way out there. I have yet to see The Deer Hunter, but I heard it also was very good; possibly even more disturbing than Apocalypse Now or Full Metal Jacket. Of course, ya can't beat R. Lee Ermey in FMJ; best character in the whole movie Great picks there, man Anyone else?

For a what in the h*ll kind of movie.... Memento, the whole movie is backwards. Definitely leaves you thinking the first time around and maybe even after having to watch it a few times.
BEST ENDING EVER: The Usual Suspects. No Questions Asked! That movie has by far the best ending, throws everyone for a loop. You walk out after the movie going, OMG!

I love Starsky and Hutch.
Gone in 60 Seconds [one] was badass IMO.. two wasn't as good.. it wasn't based as much on the cars, as was in one.

They made another movie based on Gone in 60 Seconds? Or are you talking about the old one and the recent remake with Nicolas Cage?
