Default remote start question

a few months ago i left the key on in the wifes envoy , killing the battery. recharged the battery and now the remote start doesnt work. lights come on but the engine doesnt turn over. i called mickey shorr and they said it would be $32.50 to "reset the chip".
is this something i can do ? its a viper remote start. hate to let go of the cash if its just a simple fix !

Post your question at www.the12volt.com. The guys over there are FABULOUS with giving advice for remote start systems. I've never been let down over there.

the remote and brain need to be programmed. the brain on the box isnt letting the remot engage the starter thinking it is someone else.

32.50 is a pretty good price. I don't know that you will do it yourself. You fry the brain trying it yourself and thats around 125.00
