Default Looking for projects for a mechanical engineer-to-be.

so my fiancee is an engineering student at OU. shes been playing in the lab lately and is looking to tackle a project. she asked me for a project.

the materials she can work with right now [free] are steel and aluminum. i asked her about coatings, but whatever. so i told her id ask on bonnevilleclub for good ideas of what she could make.

i told her she could make me new headers

ideas? shes a student and doesnt want to actually do any figuring. she just wants to get more familiar with the tools provided that she can use for free. so anything id suggest would have to be complete with drawings and measurements unless it was really simple.

Design a free-flowing intake that muffles the whine under normal driving conditions, yet still makes it present at WOT

Are looking at sheet metal, or tube stock, both...? Do you need some garage shelves? I know I do.

Maybe a TB replacement so you could go to a LSx style MAF? Tube with a mounting flange, butterfly valve, and throttle linkage.
