itsnitro 04-05-2005 04:19 PM

NERV 04-05-2005 04:20 PM

MOS95B 04-05-2005 04:33 PM

Sounds to me like he's really saying: "I have a POS that, if you could see it, no one in thier right mid would ever buy. But since e-bay is full of idiots with nothing better to spend thier money on, I'll call it a Mystery Car"

:?

Or a Mini or Elise.

NERV 04-05-2005 05:41 PM

i tihnk the first pic is fornt view and second pic is side view, assumeing the boxes are right at the cars edges, assuming that there car is actually in those pics, lol

Princess Jeanie 04-05-2005 05:51 PM

or it's the picture of someone's driveway and they put a white box to make it look like a car...there probably never was a car in the picture.

Ireli 04-05-2005 05:54 PM

Are you guys serious????

THERE IS NO CAR IN THOSE PICS. IT'S JUST A FRIGGIN HOUSE WITH A QUESTION MARK ON IT. I BET MY SAVINGS THAT ISN'T EVEN HIS HOUSE!

<--- thinking the same thing...I bet its a nice car..or an uber huge scam to deceive...I parked my POS at my rich buddies moms house

beckstyle 04-05-2005 05:59 PM

That's about the stupidest thing I have ever seen. It could be so many different things. The seller/sellers could have money coming out of their butts and be selling a Bentley just for fun. Or they could be selling the crappiest car that has ever been seen. But it sure does bring in the money. I should try getting some money by selling something like that. I could sell them the "Mystery Bag." I would put an old twinky and a toothpick or something in the box. I end up selling it for like $300, oh boy, that would be grand.

Ya, but he does have 100% feedback. And he does indicate the "car" is registered, not to mention driveable.

opensourceguy 04-05-2005 06:18 PM

Sellers build their reputation through that feedback rating. I don't think he's out to scam anyone. Reputation speaks volumes about the integrity of a person.

Krazy Kyle 04-05-2005 07:09 PM

You guys are missing the point, I think, if I understand the rules right. As long as you follow the rules, you can sell a "mystery" item, and get whatever people will pay, as long as you do not misrepresent what you are selling. That means no false claims, but, then again, if you make NO claims, what's the crime? It is, in effect, a form of gambling. Seems to me we should all take advantage of it, and sell all our crap this way, lol ;) At least what we have that's worth, say, under half a grand or so... we'd end up getting more out of it than it's worth purely because of people's insatiable curiousity! Gotta love the human race...

NERV 04-05-2005 09:03 PM

who said it was a crime or against the rules? its just an unidentifies car for sale, nobody said that was illegal

fantastic88 04-05-2005 09:37 PM

Effin dumba$$es. They actually bid.

Plurr 04-06-2005 08:23 PM

heck just sell a pile of snow that is shaped like a car i bet you would get a buyer be like "it could be a pile of snow or a real car or mabe a mystery under the pile of snow that doesnt even resemble a car happy bidding" haha that will come next.

captainmiller 04-06-2005 09:51 PM

If you look in the "bizarre" category you will find everything from old socks, to unknown liquids, to mystery boxes and rocks shaped like funny objects. Ebay is full of the weirdos.

sqela 04-06-2005 09:55 PM

the alaskan mystry car is probably a mustang
1) dual exaust
2)fetured in movies
3)bucket seats
If its not its probably 60's to 70's muscle car

Gumball 04-06-2005 10:34 PM

NERV 04-06-2005 10:36 PM

i tihnk the alaskan mystery car is a vette, lookd too short and low to be a mustang

White96SE 04-07-2005 11:20 AM

Just to chime in on the feedback rating thing: My husband and I have a high feedback score, and somebody was able to get into our account and list a few auctions, some really ugly 22 inch spinners to be exact. They also hacked our email and disabled it while the auctions were running, and hid them so if we accessed our eBay, they didnt show up on our Selling list. They racked up charges to our ebay account, and I discovered it soon enough to change all of our information and before they buttpirate got into our paypal. I had to pay the $80 in listing fees to eBay, even though they could see that the auctions were listed by a third party, I guess I'm supposed to be seeing a refund sometime this month.....whatever. Also, it is common for people to steal account identities to list scam auctions on cars, ATV's, and snowmobiles....on a snowmobile forum I frequent, alot of the gallery photos where stolen and used in auctions that where listed under stolen accounts.

I love eBay, but hate the scam artists!!!

And, I think the snow-car is a Vette.

BonneMeMN 04-07-2005 11:24 AM

I'm gonna bet Ferrari, there are more the 14 vette's or 'stangs on ebay.

Krazy Kyle 04-07-2005 11:50 AM

I was going to third the Vette motion, but BonneMe brought up a really good point...

Could it be a newer Jaguar coupe? Got that impression, for some reason...

NERV 04-07-2005 01:59 PM

a ferrari wouldnt sell for 20k, plus he might be reffering to his specific year, edition, or generation

itsnitro 04-07-2005 02:01 PM

the damn thing is up to 1,225 bucks!! Hope its worth it
