for the lazy

I read through the entire site. Now here's something I've noticed personally....

Many foreign cars that rice boys get there hands on always get the interior painted as a mod (yes I know, I painted my dash and a/c vents, but thats not the point). In a early 90's Bonneville you can pull the dash piece out as on piece and paint that, as well as the a/c grills...which I have done out of sheer bordom one summer night. Now lets go to the rice side of things and lets pick on the Hyundia Elantra. Sadly a friend of mine riced out one of these...yeah yeah I know, hes gonna go to hell anyway.

ANYWAY! I was checking out everything he painted on the inside such as the dome light assemblies, dash, glove compartment door, door handles, center console, speaker grills, etc etc. Then I helped a ANOTHER rice friend of mine out with his Tiberon. He painted his dash, doors, speaker grills, etc just as the Elantra. I soon started to notice while working on these cars that they are almost like friggin kit cars! Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING pops out way too easy and can just fall apart if you roll up to a curb too firmly. Don't get me wrong, I know many American cars have interior pieces that come out easily, but lets say you want to paint the door on your Bonneville (don't worry, I would never go that far personally). Where the hell do you begin???

In my experience it just seems like American automobiles are built to last for everything is either bolted, crimped, clamped, welded, rivitted, sealed, and the list goes on. However on these few Hyundai I've worked on, out of shear pitty for my pals mind you, they just go *SNAP* and the car is one piece again! YAY MOMMY ITS A KIT CAR!

Like most American car enthusiests I'm going to have to back myself up from ridicule like always by saying: "No I dont hate all imports, in fact I am fond of many foreign cars. I would love to own an RX-7, I always wanted a BMW 7-series, and if I could I would buy a Nissan Skyline GT-R anyday."

Feels good to vent! :)

Yea here I go again but all I need is a t-15 and a #2 phillips to take the 'roc dash apart.
