Default Holy **it

This afternoon I woke up at 2pm and went on my computer and the moniter started making some sizzling noises. Sounds like bacon on a cast iron skillet. Then it started shooting sparks and making loud popping noises and I quickly pulled the plug. Thankfully I have a crappy backup one and am still here. Don't know how it happened though. Weird :?

I once turned on an old 19” CRT of mine and it started to smoke. The screen clicked and the light on the monitor went from green to orange like it was in stand by mode. I couldn’t find a schematic for the monitor by no luck there, so I cracked it open anyway and couldn’t find the burned resistor. (It smelled like a burning resistor. & sadly I can decipher electronic components by the smell they make when they burn.)

Office Space FTW!!!
Seriously, that would have freaked me out.
Would have been kinda cool to see, but not on your own monitor.
Glad you have a backup.

That happened to my old roommates 19" Dell monitor. One of the funniest things I've ever witnessed was his reaction.
