Default Stepdad'* 2002 cavalier died..

2.2L Vin4 (i believe) SFI engine..

Base cavalier coupe.

Anyone with alldata, can you look up TSB'* on no starts, or what could be causing it? all I know of at the moment is:

bad fuel pump/filter, bad plugs/wires, no spark condition, bad compression by chance? (not sure on this) ..he has a half a tank of gas, his car was acting funky yesterday when i pulled it into the garage..felt like it wanted to just stall.

anyone that can help me out with this, post the problem if you can figure it out

Well, does it crank? Can you hear the fuel pump building pressure when you turn on the key? How old are the plugs, wires, and fuel filter?

I'm sure it didn't just die.......

Car WILL crank, it won't fire.
Fuel pump: He doesn't remember. The car'* on the back of a flatbed.. On the way to the shop. He'* riding w/ the driver.
Plug/wire/filter age: He says he changed the plugs and wires around 70K miles. He suspects it to be a fuel filter, but I'm not sure on it.

I'm thinking it could be weather, also? Plus he has the A/c on usually (since his work uniform consists of long pants and a long sleeve dressy shirt..) Copier technician that drives from call to call for the company doing the fixes. In the weather. He said on the phone just now "I think it'* the filter.. I don't think we ever got to changing that out"

He said he cranked it over, it fired.. was running for about 10 seconds, then just kaput. died. It did it last night when I went to move it.

I wonder if 105K miles has a thing to do with it..

That mileage has nothing to do with a no start..nor does the weather.

Something is wrong.
Might be fuel filter as you suspect.
Could be many different things though.

At this point with it cranking.. the main suspects are spark and fuel.

How do you know it'* not firing? Did you hook a timing light up to it while cranking?

I'm going off on a limb, but I'm willing to bet it'* fuel delivery related.

Mark by "not firing" I think Eric means it doesn't start up.
