I think part of my problem with the interior was the lack of options. Because the one I drove was lacking navigation and the screen in the console it had wierd compartments instead...like 5 of them (in addition to the standard glove box which was way too small and the center console). The compartments were very plasticky and strangely placed...I would rather have had nothing but flat dash there. Maybe it is because the M'* have nice wood insets and leather everywhere, but the vinyl and plastic dash was less than impressive. It also had big plastic buttons everywhere for everything...I prefer ***** and buttons that look more like metal or are small and not noticeable (granted the Bonnies have the plastic ***** and buttons, and they are too big too, but I expected more from a car that was supposed to be so refined).

Every G35 i've been in was millions of miles better then an SSEi. The 350z would prob be comprable, but it'* a different style of that chassis.

The Q and M are great as well. I like that new M45 a lot. The M35 will be a nice deal though.

Ryan, i'm with u... But i'd want to beat an 00+ dash even more.

I can see that...I imagine the Mercedes particularly would spoil you. I won't even allow myself to drive one (above C class anyway) for fear that I will hate everything I drive after that by comparison. :P

One question I have for the local Infiniti afficianatos...how do they stack up as far as lasting quality? I noticed that the two 2002 Qs I saw at the same lot as the M I drove looked like they had a lot of wear for 3-4 year old cars with only 40,000 miles on them. The seats looked worn, the floor mats were all frayed around the edges, the chrome on the doors and the chrome symbols were chipping, and the engine of one sounded a little tinny (paint held up well though). I know that my 2000 SSEi looks and sounds like it is in a lot better repair despite 84,000 miles and being 2 years older. Were these two exceptions to the rule or do they all degenerate like that around that mileage? How about mechanically...do the engines and transmissions last past 100,000? 150,000? I know my Pontiacs have done very well, and that our Bonnies are known for lasting into the hundreds of thousands of miles. I'm not sure I would want to move to a car that was not known for longevity after being spoiled this way.

I wouldnt even have driven it if the sales guy went in. Thats why you have to pull up in a car thats worth equal or more value than the car you want to drive. Then you can just hand them your key and beat the **** out of their car for 20 or 30 minutes. Whenever we go to test drive cars, they never come with us when we pull up in the jaguar.
