Man found severely beaten


A man was in hospital Thursday morning after being found severely beaten on the roadway outside an east-end condo.

Const. Wendy Drummond said police received several calls for two disturbances before 1:45 a.m. on Kingston Rd., just east of Main St.

"When our officers arrived we found him (the victim) lying in the road," said Drummond, adding the victim had cuts to his face and head as well as broken ribs. "He is alive, but not doing well in hospital," said Drummond.

One of the calls was for property being damaged while the other was for a fight and police are trying to see whether they are related.

Detectives from nearby 55 Division were going to speak to the unidentified man in hospital to find out what might have led to his severe beating.



Officers were at the four-storey condo unit this morning, taking swabs and photos and collecting evidence inside the apartment'* front doors and foyer.

Residents said they heard nothing but were alarmed when they woke this morning and had to exit to the rear parking lot.

I was watching the news on a story about a child molester that would lure children into his van, and they were on the intersection where he lurked (by a school) and my apartment complex was in the background.
