Default Video Card Input

Want to hear some opinions about video cards for computers. I am not too smart on this category and really dont keep up with the current designs and hype. I definately want a 256mb card with DVI, but is a 512mb that much better or does it depend on video processor speed? Most of the games I play are RTS, Space (Star Wars, etc..) and Racing. I am not really into first person shooter on PC. I have used ATI cards in the past and they never busted on me, but I heard Nvidia is pretty sweet as well. I read some reviews on both, but "professional" reviewers are full of crap most of the time.

It'* more about bits than mb, but I don't think you'll notice a huge diff between 512 and 256 unless youre a hardcore gamer, and if the rest of your systems up to snuff.

You can have some 128mo faster than 256mo, depend wich one you use,

do you have PCI-E slot? or AGP?

Nvidia ASUS 6600GT will give you enought power for your game and it have a good power/price ratio. You can be very happy with it.

I personaly have a 6800GT wich is faster, but a 6600GT is good. Enought to play with everything at maximum detail. (Depend also of your processor and memory.)

Right now theres no reason to buy a 512mo video card, like the monster Nvidia ASUS
7800GTX 512 mo . wich is a way too expensive right now anyway.

If you dont know what a PCI-E slot is, just tell me what motherboard model you have.

Goodluck!

Yea, I have a PCI Express slot. So, right now from what everyone is telling me, 512 is just a waste of money. Cool, they are pretty expensive too. I am not too worried about the capabilities of overclocking and stuff like that.

This is coming from an alliance player.

I've been using a 6800GT for a year and it hasn't failed yet. Still fast enough to run anything I throw at it.

How much are you looking to spend?
