Virus! Kind of fixed!
My laptop is just getting raped by this virus. Microsoft Security Essentials reports it as Java/CVE-2010 exploit. Has anybody else dealt with this?
I already booted into safemode and did a full scan (2.5 hours) removed a ton of infections. Rebooted into Windows and went unresponsive within 5 minutes. I'm using my 1ghz 512mb RAM garage PC right now and I'm not happy about it! hahaa.

Run ComboFix in safe mode with networking. It will need to download some microsoft tool (I forget which) to run properly. Afterward, run an anti-spyware scan like malwarebytes or super antispyware.
ComboFix is the kind of tool that gives uber geeks boners. Its pretty 1337.

OMG, safe mode isn't even safe anymore. I can only get about 30 seconds into a scan with MBAM before the program crashes.
What kind of world is this where Safemode isn't even safe anymore!
At least I still have Ubuntu.
ComboFix runs for about a minute before locking up and closing.

Reformatting is absolutely not an option. I still have a working OS on here (ubuntu) so there is no way.
Windows is pretty much fuxed. I've got Linux scanning the windows partition for viruses now

I disabled my java updater a couple of weeks ago. I KNOW that'* what did it.
It'* almost acting like a worm, just replicating over and over again. My hdd is written to constantly in windows. I ran ATFcleaner and cleared out 2.5gigs.
Well, I'm frustrated to no end with this. The scan in ubuntu is still going. I'm using Avast. I might try some other software after Avast is finished. Right now Linux is my only hope. If it can't clean it, then I can use linux to backup all my important stuff and wipe the hdd.
