Paint poll
Ok i have mentioned a few times that GM is going to warranty the paint work on my car.. Well nows its official the rep wasn't happy with what she saw either, Question being can i get them to paint it a different color ?
and if i can (no biggie) if it costs me extra..
what color
I really like the blue but being as they messed it up the first time and im being forced to go back there and i have had to have blue that looks black and no how it is supposed to look I'm unsure of how it will turn out.

Dont think GM isnt going to give you any slack on color choice. They are going to want it to match up perfectly with parts they wont bother retouching. i.e. Trunk, inside hood area, inside door jams and into the interior, etc, etc, etc. You living a pipe dream my friend. There is too much left to chance and secondary legal problems that could pop up. Nice thought though.

A 2 hour lunch meeting with the rep who authorized almost 5000.00 canadian for paint was not to happy looking at the job. ie:bad blends orange peel and dirt in the paint not to mention thin way thin on the clear so thin in spots its just paint. If Carstar doesn't want to paint it the way it should have been painted the first well second time around they will get the bill from my painter...
I have taken the car to several paintshops for estimates and every painter who looked at it says the same thing "If we turned out jobs like that we would be out of business" even the painter at my dealership noticed they didnt even remove the mirrors.
So i have been told to send it back to GM for a second attempt at making the car somewhat presentable. this meeting with the GM rep was the second week of January I have yet to hear from CarStar.
And 5000.00 to repaint a new car is crazy since my painters estimate came in around 4000.00 with a color change to that Caddy Metallic Orange thats everything including the trunk floor

peter the previous owner had it painted or parts painted under warranty, I believe for bad paint from the factory. from what i can understand this was to be a complete refinish noting the 5000.00 price tag... BUT the whole car was not refinished they painted the front cover, Fenders, front doors, deck lid and spoiler and the rear cover. while doing this they missed on the mix.. and looking at the car you can pick out what panels have been and haven't been painted
so the way i see it and the rep there in dodo
