Has anyone ever filed a small claim?
A bad boy in our neighborhood caused my son to break his arm and we want to have his parents help pay for the cost of the medical expenses we have incuured. I have never done this before and am a bit nervous. Any on have experience with this?

If they have homeowners insurance they can file a claim through it cuz they will have liablity coverage. In some states if your son did anything to contribute to the accident they will not make the other party pay.

I wonder how find out if Im one of those state. This family is bad news all around. Im not the kind of person who is ( sue ) happy. This kid though has hurt a few children and isnt,, monitored by his parents. Now I have to find that out before I file this. I know that they will claim its just boys playing. It wasnt.

Well I got assaulted in a bar (jacka$$ threw a beer bottle at my face) and I did nothing to provoke him. It'* a long story, but anyways, I was looking into small claims court for my medical bills, and at least here in NY, it only costs $15 to file a claim in small claims court if you're suing for up to $1000. Over that it'* more, but still cheap.
I wouldn't hesitate to get back any money you payed out of pocket. I watch (used to anyways) court shows all the time, so you just need to prove your case and bring all the appropriate paperwork. In my case, I could have easily sued him in small claims court and won. But his criminal case is pending and the court will get my money from him through his trial.
