this is a link to a website that produced names and model #'* aswell as pics of all 100,000 toys that were sold in the last 3 months that are made with a deadly lead paint in china for fisherprice then sold here in the u.*... i have bought 3 of the toys listed for my kids and now im fourious and will be taking my 2 kids to the hospital for a lead poision test..

I REPEAT EVERY ONE SHOULD TAKE ACTION IF THEY PURCHASED ANY SIMILAR ITEMS LIKE THE ONES FROM THE LINK BELOW.. they were sold in every toy store out there like toys r us, babies r us, walmart, target, ebay, and over 50 other toy stores that i wont write all there names...

Phew! I don't recognize anything from that list.

To be on the safe side though, we only buy our little girl used toys, with all of the lead already sucked off by previous users.

Just goes to show though that the trend of companies going and having things made cheaply in developing countries with shady safety and quality standards CAN come back to bite us. Would that have happened if they were made anywhere in North America? Maybe in Mexco, but even then I have my doubts.

I don't have much cash to spare, but when possible, I'll pay a little more for something that was made here. I just hate buying from China. It'* like selling a small piece of your soul.

You are a part of the minority then. People demanded lower prices, so companies went over seas to be able to sell products cheaper(and maximize profit). Most Americans won't work for $.04 cents a week....

Number one rule of economics. Buyer beware. No matter what, you can't just assume that what you buy is safe. I choose where I buy my groceries from based on the way they handle their perishable goods. Anyone that does the research will find that the safety mechanisms were not in place to keep this from happening. You can't always assume your government will protect you from something like this, and while you can blame the companies or the government, ultimately it was the will of the people that drove the jobs to somewhere cheaper.

Bottom line, don't buy cheapy toys.

It'* hard to find toys at ANY price that are USA made. Unless you shop for hand carved Amish wood toys or something. And not just toys, anything for around the house. As a factory worker in the States, I'm depressed every time I have to buy something because I either can't afford or can't find something not made in China.

Oh, and as for buying used toys: We do wash them... She'* just as happy, and we're not nearly as broke.

I hear ya. When I was laid off and had very little to spare on Christmas I bought a bunch of used toys off ebay on the cheap. Cleaned them up and put them all in one BIG mother of a box. You never saw a happier kid in you life! the box was like 4'x4'x3'H and F U L L. LMAO.
