Was it the 405hp LS2? I got to drive a few of those at the auction back when. I got chewed out once when I got to a dealer a full twenty minutes ahead of the other drivers in our group.

haha I used to work at a luxury car dealership, we often got the cars at auctions. I went to one and helped drive one of them back, and me and the owner of the dealership were racing each other on the freeway (well not racing, just having fun and going fast). If only I could get paid for that more often.

The LS2 has 400 hp. I think you're thinking of the C5 Z06 motor, the LS6.

Correct! LS2 = 400hp. The LS6 is 405. However, all the LS2 is, is a bored our LS1/LS6. Otherwise it has the LS6 heads, intake, same rotating assembly, etc. Despite it'* additional displacement, it doesn't make more due to a lower compression ratio vs. the LS6. However, in reality, what'* 5 hp? Both are strong motors, both can be made stronger easily with the abundant LSx motor aftermarket, so...

And why would you think something with that abundant level of power would be slow!

They beauty of the LSx motor is it'* ability to breathe all the way to redline! The thing pulls like a freight train all the way up there but does it so smoothly, you don't realize it. I don't know if you got a chance to wind out a few cogs, but that'* what I love about the motor!

No idea. I grew up in West Chicago for the most part. I wasn't really into sports so I don't know. I was always in the shop areas.
