since i'm a lazy guy, what'* the easiest / quickest way to get my rear plugs changed (WITHOUT TAKING IT TO A SHOP) besides from removing the strut tower brace, pillows on the top of the engine, etc.. ?

i have a set of borg-warner wires, and ACDELCO factory plugs ready to go in

I have the strut bar removed in that picture, but I have done it both ways.

Contrary to popular belife, its easy, even with the strut bar in place.
I've changed them atleast 4 times on this SSEi and twice on my old SSEi..

Well for removing 4 nuts, might as well get that strut tower bar out of the way. It will save you more time and grief than trying to work around it.

As you trace the wires to the rear plugs, you will be able to feel about where they are.
You almost have to feel your way around the whole job. and perhaps build your tools, like the socket, extensions, etc.
Having a universal joint as part of the extension setup makes it easier.

I imagine if you took it to a shop, they will want to pull the whole engine, which is not necessary. damned shops.

I didn't know. I know where the plugs are (I changed my brothers old monte carlo SS'* plugs.. with ngk'*)

Well to find the plugs, all you have to do is trace the wires to the back of the engine.
You will feel where the wires connection is to the plugs.
I am no tiny guy, my arms did get a bit scratched up.

If you are 6'3", your arms are probably pretty huge, but long enough to reach.

You know they always say crap about "On these newer cars, you have to pull the whole engine just to get to the back plugs" which is seldom true.
Hell, plugs are one of those things that can and will wear out, they ain't gonna put them in an impossible to get to place.

Just wait til you get to do this, you will see it is not very hard.

Lol...in reality..simply lean over the passenger side fender and do it. Highlander is one of these tall large military looking guys that you say "yes sir" to. He can lean in w/o taking the strut tower off. I can do it.. there'* nothing to it.
