Default Which one ?

well tomorrow i will begin the engne rebuild on my 96 olds LSS, and right now my DD is a 00 malibu, my problem is witch one should i keep as my new DD ? the other will bw sold. The LSS has 238,000 miles but the body and interior are in great shape and freashly cleaned, buffed , waxed and lookin good. but the trans in original, so it getting up there but still shifts perfect and has been mantianed and will have a pretty much new engine. the malibu has 186,000 miles runs perfect, but has been ran hard , yet has never missed an oil change. but the body has many dents and now i wrecked it. so the fender and bumper are alittle pushed in. the interior is in okay shape. now the part that keeps meon the line is the LSS is a 1996 and the malibu is a 2000, but the Lss is more comfy, uninqe, powerful, yet called a old mans car sometimes. so if it was you as a 19 year old that loves oldsmobile and wants a cool car what would you chose ?

thanks

i would chose the lss personally because the malibu could easily be a ricer and like stated the lss is bigger more roomy and quicker than the malibu

Body, interior, and engine work aside, the "old man" cars* are generally luxury sedans, with more features and space than a mid-size like the Malibu. If you're reasonably tall or lanky, but I find my 6' 4" frame squeezes uncomfortably into Priuses, Camaros, and everything with two doors. The choice is obviously yours, but I'd take the Oldsmobile.

*By the way, in case any Malibu fans harass you, Oldsmobile wasn't named for being a company dedicated to making cars for old people, but for founder Ransom E. Olds, who actually was young when he started the company.

i agree with you guys, i was alreadys leaning that way alittle. and the lss was my dads and ive wanted it ever since he bought it brand new, and when my aurora died he bought a new car and gave me that one. and ive always liked it, so m not your normal 19 year old...im an oldsmobile nut lol. and signofzeta i totally agree, i see the lss to oldmobile as ssei is to bonneville, sport luxury. and i even have a little sticker on the window that says " not your fathers oldsmobile"

I'll be the odd guy out. Chose the Malibu only given year difference and the Olds is going to become a money pit quickly.

vemon you make a good point, but it does have a new ac comperser, struts, wheel bearing, tires, brakes, and now engine. so pretty much only the trans is left, but im not worried about it because we have a u pull it with about 10 4t60e'* for $100. oh and threres no rust anywhere.
