SOLD: 1999 Park Avenue Ultra - Pearl White on Chrome (12/17)
OK - I thought you told me no one came out to look at it yet. Perhaps
you already know but book values will drop January 1st again. We could
borrow some money from one of our "budget" accounts, but with the high
miles and low in town gas mileage, and driving two hours each way to
pick up, we can't do more than $5,000. Thanks for the consideration.
Good luck and good luck back in college!

Nobody has came to look yet, but I have received many email offers.
The miles are not really that high, 16k a year is average. The mileage
would be very close to your Century, considering they both have the
3800. I mentioned that I would be willing to meet you in Fairbault to
save you some trip. I'm sorry, but I am firm at $5500.

I hope Autotrader works for me. This is probably the worse time of the year to have a car for sale. :?
Does everyone else agree that I should not back down to less than $5500?
I wouldn't back down. It'* too early in the game.
But, at the same time, holding out may cost you more in the end because you might sell it less than $5,500 or even $5,000...plus you have the carrying costs.
This is the WORST time of year to sell a car. I had our Grand Marquis for sale for 2 months and had several offers for $5,400. I stood firm with $5,600 and nobody would offer that much. Standing firm cost me in the end. A lot. The next best offer I got (and the fact I wanted it out of my hair) was for $4,400. I bit the bullet and let it go. Learned a lesson, and don't have the insurance costs...not to mention was able to pay off the loan on the GS.
Be practical. But, remember, everyone and I mean EVERYONE comes with a story.

I bet they'll meet you in the middle at $5,250.
Or if you wanted to make it seem that you're trying to do better than that, meet them at $5,200. What'* $300 these days, anyway?? It'* all in the sales pitch.

She just emailed back and said thanks anyways.
I am gonna gonna back down yet. I have only had it on craigslist for 3 weeks. It has been on Autotrader for a few days. If I went back at her with $5250 I would appear weak, and she would probably show up with $5000 thinking she could change my mine. I am done with her.
I have until March to pay it off, in a one lump sum payment. It is only costing me $100 more a month to insure. I can handle that. Plus, its fun to own two cars.

It'* the worst time of year to sell ANYTHING. Try selling a horse.... mine'* been on the market for months.
But yeah, I found my car on Autotrader, so you should get a lot more interest. Good luck, it'* gorgeous
