What'* the name of this movie?
There'* a movie about a couple people going on a safari. It'* from the 50s or 60s, and it cast a hysterical woman to play the lead female role. Her calm male safari buddy has slicked-back jet black hair and helps her when she overly dramatically trips and falls on flat ground. There'* usually a conversation each time she falls, something like:
"Oh, I have fallen!"
"Let me help you back up."
She is helped up but spins into a kissing pose.
"No, I will not kiss you!"
"That'* fine. That'* not the point anyway."
"I'm not interested in you!"
"All right."
This is a really long and pointless movie that does nothing but show a hysterical woman moan and groan about how she doesn't like her male safari buddy until she falls in love with him near the end. Also, they some time in the middle of the movie are approached by some wild African dude in probably not much clothing, and he tells them he'* royalty. They help lead him back to his village, but someone else has taken over. There'* an 20-minute fight scene of just these two guys slowly walking and looking at each other with closeups on snarls and the woman'* hysterical reactions to mere jiggling of spears. Needless to say, the royal African dude wins the fight with one stab wound in his opponent, and then he provides the movie with a shortcut to the end by doing something, but I forgot what.

Dude, I think your talking about the African Queen with Bogart and Hepburn from 1954. As soon as I was reading your post, that movie came to mind and I remember watching it with my mom back in the 70'*. Uh oh, now I'm dating myself. Hope that helps.

So far, I've had a few suggestions across a couple forums. I've tried Mogambo, and that'* not it, and I think Safari from 1956 might be the closest though I haven't checked it out yet. According to the pictures, that may be it. African Queen doesn't look like it from the pictures. We'll see when I watch Safari, but it'* great to have come up with 3 50s movies just from that weird initial description. Thanks!
