so, i just signed the papers for a new job...

as of tomorrow, i am putting in my 2 weeks at the goodwill. ill be leaving on the 4th. after much negotiation i turned a 25 hour job into a promised 40 hour job at advance. still techinically part time though, so im apprehensive about that........ leaving a full time for a part time. but, it pays more and obviously fits my interests better than pricing and receiving donations...

aside from that, from what i observed in the 2 or so hours i was there today, it seems like much less work for more pay. who can complain about that??? dude was like we are having a rush right now.... there were about 8 people in the store. where i work currently, we have 2,000 plus customer days with about 300+ donations. and i am expected to price 850 things in my 8 hour shift all while taking donations. this will be a walk in the friggin park. lol.

anyways i just wanted to let y'all know. ill probably be MIA for a bit, as i scheduled my training on my off days at the 'will.

Congrats! Who knows what doors this job may open for you in the future.

same distance... just down the street from work. bout 30 miles. which is why i was worried about having less hours. part time retail means still 5-6 days just less hours each day. same drive, less money..

Congratulations Jason, it sure sounds like a more entertaining job, I'd love to do something like that, or maybe work even at Walmart's TLE, just to get my foot in the door for something bigger of course, I'd love to get ASE certified and work in a real garage, or for a stealership, as long as the pay is good.
Have to work our way up that ladder man.
Hope you enjoy the job, and the pay!

Walmart TLE is a good place to start. I started almost a year ago, and I still enjoy the work. Winter/summer tire season is hectic here though. We usually book weeks in advance, and don't take any extra work long after the garage opens some days (5 appointments, and usually 6-8 walk-ins..only two techs).

Jason,

Congrats on your new job. I sense you will find it much more interesting and mind challenging than Goodwill.
