So How Are You Liking The New Forum
OK, a great deal got done tonight. Some rearranging and Sectioning still to come, but as we go along.
Here'* the place to voice likes and dislikes. I wont try to be Obama and pretend to make all happy. But I want honest opinions and suggestions.

I don't know if your planning to or not, but you could seperate the your rides section into models and makes, or something along those lines. Also how is the COTM gonna work now?
EDIT: P.*. Looking great so far, i like the logo!

COTM is going to stay a Bonne event for the present. Other sections will see features as warranted by participation. As this goes along. So the other sections for know are places to talk up other brands, get mechanical help. Members of each section participation will decide how far we go with each. I am willing to give any brand that gets active all the Sections features Bonneville enjoys, But each brand has to prove itself.
Moderators are the same type situation. I like a formula of 50 members/ per Mod. As the Sections grow, people of those sections will be tapped. Moderators from now on will be brand specific. i.e., You have to be an active member of that brand to Moderate it. And Moderators will not interact between Brands, Things like this will grow and be evaluated as they progress. For the moment I dont see anything that will hinder or overtask our present Staff. I have increased it by two this year and nothing is going unnoticed.

Not digging the GMForum logo at all. Just looks too cartoonish.
Another minor thing is the Bonneville club at the top left. I think it'd be better with a logo like the one we used to mark posts read and unread on BF. The box just doesn't flow right.
Finally this is just a suggestion (and something I had played around with in the past for a personal experiment) but change the logo used to mark threads unread, hot, read, etc to the GM logo. Unread=regular color read=grayscale logo hot=red scaled logo and then the lock icons, reply icons, etc can all be added to each. If ya want an example of what I mean I can throw the GM logo back in Photoshop and do it quick (already deleted the ones I experimented on)
I could nitpick all night (I tend to be OCD and notice even the smallest of things) but all in all the forum looks great.

We're growing, and that'* fine. In fact, it'* great. We're picking up more members, which means more exposure, and perhaps a sponsorship or two. The new layout and logos are pretty sharp. I commend the staff for having the ball joints to make a massive change like this.
I just worry that because the Bonneville section is out of the limelight, and just a subforum, that it'* going to become just another subforum. Granted, it'* still the star attraction of the site, and will be for some time, depending on how the other sections grow. But just remember — everyone here today joined BonnevilleForum.com (and some of us even joined when it was BonnevilleClub.com); we come here for what'*, in my opinion, the best Bonneville community on the Web. Our old name is still in the logo, for crying out loud.
I shouldn't worry, though. I'd gladly bet a million dollars that, right now, Bill'* not gutting his Bonneville to build the invisible Regal, Dan'* hammer is not smashing his Bonnie to very flat bits, and Venom'* not thinking of trading in his GXP under Cash for Clunkers.
Like I said, I'm by no means against this merger; I've loved every "the new Facebook" from day one, and GMForum.com is no exception. I think I just had to get it out of my system.

Now, will there be new stickers and contact cards coming down the line?

Lets remember alot of what we see came with the other Forum. Tonight'* work was huge as it was, and just concentrated on nailing the two together. And preserving links, tweaking address'*, and preserving search engine rankings with the name changes. Artwork is always welcome to be reviewed. The other stuff isn't anything I'm going to worry about for the short term. Expect it to stay a bit while work out sectioning issues. Alot of things will change to make GMForum our own. All in time. We have alot of sectioning and backroom cleanup before we change any templates / theme designs.

LOL
One of the things that remain job one for us Z * to in fact preserve the Bonneville Forum. I only sub'ed the Mechanical of Bonne as I didn't see another way to keep a flow that made allowances for each. This went from an idea to a reality in less than a week and not cast in concrete. I will keep everything that is being discussed here in my mind and it all will be evaluated as we go along. Like I mentioned at the top of the thread, I'm not going to lie like a politician here and promise to please everyone. But preserving Bonneville a priority, and as we go aloing, I am going to do everything I can to incorporate idea'* and worrys of the majority thinking here. I am asking for patience here but want to keep the likes and dislikes going. In time, I am sure the final product will present something reasonable to all.
Forum decals and contact cards will remain the same for know. bonnevilleforum still and will always bring you here. What comes of decals/contact cards to be truthful hasnt been evaluated. We have some more pressing things still hanging in the air.
And be assured Man that BF will retain its identity. What we have here is an experimant, done on the fly, and not set in concrete. All of Admins are Bonneville owners. And we came here just as you did, for the same reasons. We just saw some very solid reasons for expansion.

COTM wil remain Bonneville. Likely each Section can have one as membership warrants. And even a GMFOTM. The key here is paricipation. I think it would be cool to view GP'*, Monte'* and Regal/GNX'* in their own contests, But as I mentioned, Bonneville will not lose a single feature. We are the Bonneville Club with an expansion to cover GM. In time I would really like to put our whole thing in one section, and replicate it for every other brand that becomes active. And leave the also rans on one page.
