Default Help...cat needs a home...

Due to circumstances FAR beyond our control, my fiance, Mike, and I have to do an emergency move. We're moving out of our house this weekend. We have a place to go, but there'* one requirement: our 3-year-old big grey cat cannot come with us, orders of the owner of the house we're moving into.

The cat'* name is Kitty. He'* had recent problems with spraying, but we will take him to the vet and have him neutered and checked for a bladder infection. He'* very vocal, and CAN BE very friendly when he wants to be. He'* famous with our friends as "the cat who talks". He says "hello" and "no" and seems to have some idea what they mean. He used to sit in front of the back door and tell me "no" when I tried to go to work. He generally doesn't do this with people in the same room. He'* a big cat, weighing in at between 20 and 25 pounds. When you're upset, he usually is able to tell and will purr and stay with you.

We love our cat, and this decision does NOT come lightly. Here'* my question: can any of you open your hearts to a cat? We'd prefer he went to someone in DeKalb, Lee, Ogle, or Kane county (Illinois) and we'd like to be able to visit him sometimes. If you're further away, we may not be able to bring him to you, but we'll send him home with you if you can take him.

Please do us a favor. If you can't give him a home, please repost the link to my online jounral post. The link is http://www.livejournal.com/users/chr...ter/36048.html . Thank you.

*cries*

Update on this! After having done everything we could to get a new cat, we're trying to negotiate. The new landlords want us there no matter what it takes, since the house we'll be in has sat empty for years and they understand how difficult our current situation is (if you'd like to know, ask me off the boards...it'* fairly horrible). If all goes well, Kitty will be a garage cat there over the winter and will begin life as an outside cat in the spring.

Wish me luck, and if you're the praying type, please pray for us.
