best advice i can give ya is to go see a dermatologist. almost every product ive tried has not worked. many made the problem worse.
i have a friend that tried that pro-active, and it worked very well for him. i tried it and made mine worse, but my skin is very sensative to acidity.
eventhough, i still deal with it, ive found the best results by only washing my face in my daily shower, and by drinking lots of water. water has probably helped the most.
but bottom line is that everyones skin is unique, and if you have insurance, see a pro.

I'm in (or used to be) the same boat. I ordered Proactiv and within one or two weeks, all of it was gone and I was left with a smooth skin.
Try that.
Try that.

I've tried just about everything, including ProActiv...nothing seemed to do it for me, but as samueljackson said, everyone'* skin is unique...so what may work for some won't work for others.
Lots of water is GREAT for cutting it back...here'* what i use, and have seen huge results:
Water
Oxy Chill face wash
Oxy chill cleansing pads if it'* oily
Nature'* Cure ($10/box, comes with a month'* worth of all-natural chewable pills that balance testosterone, and it comes with a vanishing cream...I think this was the trick for me)
My skin'* always been super sensitive, so it'* taken a lot of trial and error to figure out what does it. I still get the occasional zit, but it'* nowhere near what I used to deal with. Could be that I'm getting older and growing out of it too
Good luck! I know how horrible it is to deal with, so I hope you get it calmed down!
(PS...a quick helper...mix a paste made of baking soda and honey...apply, let dry, wash off...dries it up, and the honey kills bacteria that cause it!!!)

What works will depend on you skin and how sensitive you are to different treatments..
Stay away from Accutane, It will **** you up... Not worth.... Trust me
There are a couple of different things out there..
One is Benzoyl peroxide.... If its too strong, it could irritate your skin leaving you as red as a cooked lobster..
Then there is Salicylic acid.... This if too strong could also bother you.. But it may be better than the Benzoyl Peroxide..
Just keep in mind that some things work for others may not work for you at all.. So you have to take the good with the bad and try different things..
A long time ago there was Acne-Statin.... I used this for a good long while.. It had a moisturizer, and the Salicylic Acid.... I think it was .5% .... I have seen stuff with as much as 2.0%, That was a bit strong..
Then you have Proactive... I have heard some good about it... But again, its works for some and not others..
In some manner or another these make make you peel.. I would recommend that you look for something that will be the best for sensitive skin..
Stay away from Retin-A, Accutane, Clearasil and the like.. They are too strong..
I think I would tell you to try the Acne Statin, or the Proactive.. The results will not be over night... They may not be noticed for a month or 2... It takes a while..

I went to my regular doctor, who put me on a low dose anti-botic that i take twice a day (100mg x 2). He also gave me a prescription for a special cream to put on flare ups (rarely happen for me when on anti-biotics). I also use a face wash twice a day. So, I say go to the doctor and get a prescription.
