Seepd Recar review (title funny...read a few posts down)
 

Alright, first off...don't think of this as a spoiler. There really isn't a plot to spoil, as we all know what the movie is about.

That said, I found the movie to be...I don't know...not exactly up to the hype it was given. It became more about car "wrestling" than it did about racing, and it really didn't capture the essence of the original series.

I liked the fact that showed how Speed met Trixie, and the origins of the Mach 5. I would have liked to see the WBs integrate more of the Japaneese aspects (Mifune Motors was the name of the company Pops created on his own, which explains the "M" on hood and helmet...in the movie, none of that was mentioned), and I would have liked to see stuff like the engine plans being written in invisible ink on the windshield. I HATED some the sequences they did....namely, with Spritle and Chim Chim. And there was WAY too much "flash"...I wouldn't take my son to see this movie after, say, eating a bunch of candy or ice cream. He would be HEAVILLY hyped up.

John Goodman played an excellent Pops....Ricci was pretty good as Trixie. But that's about all I can say.

The car designs were done pretty well I think, considering what they were based from.

All in all, I think its a movie worth waiting to see when released on DVD.

Going to the theater tonight to watch it.

It probably won't be as good as Iron Man.
