Default Price-O-Gas

I normally dont whine about this but I needed fuel last night and noticed another increase.
Now its 124.9 a Litre (cdn)
or $4.28 a US gallon in US $$
4.7462 CAD = 4.27689 USD

ps. thats 91 octane Chevron.

Think I'll add a sail to my boat and cut down on fuel costs

How much is a 2x4 at the home depot? Might have to look at another increase there :P

You Canadians must get paid well. I'd be living out of a cardboard box if fuel costs had been that bad here as long as they've been up there.

Its all about cost of living. Im sure Canadians get paid more because they pay more. Florida has outstanding Real Estate prices, but what are the jobs paying out there?

Me? im paying $2.91 for Premium fuel. and I hear that regular is going to be up over $3.00 soon

Lots of work in Canada, not enough workers pretty much anywhere you go nowa days.
The last 6 guys I hired all came from back east and cost over 10k to get them here, I still have 2 working form me
The last electrician I hired came from China and cant even fart in english yet :P
And here in BC with the Olympics comming we need another 60,000 skilled tradesman, I'm doomed.

Oh I think overall Americans get paid better, especially professionals or people doing skilled/technical work. We pay more taxes, pay higher gas prices, sky high insurance and unbelievably high utilities. Urban centers in Ontario are paying slightly lower gas prices then out east and out west, so I do my best not to complain.

Last Saturday, when gas was $1.14L for the good stuff, I cleaned out $75 to fill my car.

Its got me thinkin 4-banger (god I hate to say that).

Oh ya, Last night gas dropped 4c a L after some serious public outcry over the spike of 5c the previous night and after major gas companies posted record Q1 profits.

I will agree that professionals get paid better in the states but not blue collar workers.
Starting wage in a sawmill in northern BC is $22 for pushing a broom. And guess what, we have a hard time finding those guys too.
The 7-11 had a $1500 signing bonus and $12 a hour to start and I heard no-one applied.

Pdad, I can only speak for professionals because my American counterparts made significantly more then I did/do. I wouldn't assume for general labourers and blue collar staff.

Either way, we all pay to much to live in Canada. Wouldnt trade it for anything though. I'll pay and take my lumps.

Gas went from $3.19 for 93 to $3.31 just over the weekend. Today it'* up to $3.38. So much for saving some money. This summer is going to be brutal on my cash flow....or debt level.
