Default isnt college football great?

thats all i have to say about that.

feel free to discuss college football here.

my top 10:

1. Ohio State University
(OSU gets this spot with serious misgivings. While undefeated, their wins are significantly less than impressive. This spot was USF'*, as there was no doubt they were better than OSU, however, USF'* loss to Rutgers bumps them down. While their wins are unimpressive, they are wins. I cannot in good conscience, put a one-loss team above OSU at this point. But it is a fine line walked by OSU.)
2. LSU
(Despite their loss to Kentucky, I still feel LSU is most definitely one of the top teams in the nation.)
3. Oklahoma
(Oklahoma has won every game except Colorado, which they won until the final quarter. The fact they did not win the final quarter is why they do not deserve 1 or 2, but OU has rebounded dramatically with wins against Texas and previously undefeated Missouri. OU is a good team, but I'm looking for improvement in their special teams and their secondary.)
4. Boston College
(Undefeated, but their schedule is even less impressive than OSU'*.)
5. USF
(They put on an impressive show with impressive wins -- how they rebound after a loss to Rutgers will determine if they are worthy of a rank 6.)
6. Cal
7. Oregon
8. West Virginia
(They've only lost to USF -- there'* no shame in that, either)
9. Florida
(Florida'* only loss is to LSU -- nothing to be ashamed of. EDIT: theres a reason im not important. i overlooked their loss to auburn 20-17 completely)
10. Kentucky
(They've lost to South Carolina, which is not great, but if they can beat out Florida this week, they'll prove they deserve this rank. And let'* not forget they DID beat LSU -- the no2 ranked team in my current poll, but they have to prove to me it wasn't an anomaly.)

what a great season. and yes i know my opinion counts for nothing to anyone but me and in no way affects anything important.

As a Florida (UF) fan, I think that 4 is way too high. They actually have two losses (Auburn and LSU). The team is very young, and the defense is full of holes.

And for Ohio State, when they actually play a decent schedule and are undefeated, I respect them.

good point. i dont know how i missed that.

like i edited my prior post to reflect: theres a reason im not important.

ohio states schedule is nothing less than a joke. if they remain undefeated through the end of the year, i wont have quite as many misgivings about seeing them in the NC. i wish they had a tougher schedule so we could see how good they are, or arent.

no, i didnt forget USC -- USC has proven quite soundly to me that they do not deserve to be ranked above anyone in my top 10.

whats amazing is not USC'* 5-1 against a schedule Ohio State might find perfect (this year, not past years), but how easily USC could be 3-3 right now.

the last game i watched with USC, i was amazed at how USC had enough penalties that they had given up almost as many yards in penalties as they had to the opposing offense.

and i do think that if you put USC up against Kentucky, right now, it would be a close game but Kentucky would win out by at least 10 points. as such, USC is ranked below kentucky.

Yes I do love me some football.
I am impressed that an OU fan has so many SEC teams on the radar. All the hardcore OU fans I meet seem to not be aware of any teams outside their conference. What is really cool is that now that Frank Broyles is retiring, OU and Arkansas will play each other again.
I am guessing that South Carolina would be in your top 25?
I guess Kentucky decided to play football this year instead of basketball.

ive got South Carolina at 11, and frankly i feel bad about putting them behind kentucky.

id love to see OU play arkansas some. actually, id love to see OU play some real teams more often -- while Tulsa was a good move by OU (and kudos to whoever scheduled that game, being willing to schedule it for Fri night AT Tulsa), it really seems like non-conference games are too easy. and i understand perfectly why big-name teams do it, i mean, why risk an L when that L is going to basically forfeit your opportunity for NC appearance (in a regular year)? but it saddens me.

the SEC is arguably one of the toughest conferences right now (if not the toughest). 7 top 25 teams, 4 top 10 teams? hats off. the SEC, right now, composes almost half of the top 10 teams.
