There are Flys around here that bite and lay egg's and they turn into one of those.

We have it in a jar, the Vet took it out of his neck, and the spot on his neck looked just like those

They must be rare though cause i've never heard of someone getting them in America. I've been camping in the bayous down in Louisiana. If there is one place in the US that would have them that would be the place. I didn't get bit or hosted even one fly larve the whole time I was down there. I did get a tick bite that made my leg swell a little but thats about it.

The eye pics were interesting. Makes me wonder how that fly woulda got out of there if it had reached maturity. :?

Pearl_bonnie02 02-15-2007 11:54 PM

Hate to tell ya all, but that's minor compared to other worms. I travel to Africa, southern part mostly, for my job. When I go to West Africa you get to see cases of something called "Guinea Worm". The larvae is digested through drinking unclean water. It hatches in your intestines and makes it's way to your skin. When you enter the water again it bursts through your skin to get to the water to start the cycle again. Average length 2-4 FEET.

Enjoy with your spaghetti tonight!
