question for the ladies.... or maybe some of the guys....

what is the most "romantic" movie you've ever seen? a super sad, super sweet movie, i need a list here! im trying to plan a day with the new lady, and a tear jerker will get me major points i hope lol....

beckstyle 07-30-2004 05:43 PM

scary movies work pretty well IMO, the girl gets scared and usualy would like to be embrassed by the big man next to her

PontiacMom 07-30-2004 05:44 PM

Okay....romantic movies:

Sleepless in Seattle
Titanic
Ever After
Step Mom (not really romantic, but a tear jerker)

Twister97 07-30-2004 05:46 PM

Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Kahn, at the end when Spock dies. Damn, that gets my everytime.

PontiacMom 07-30-2004 05:52 PM

Thriller movies are also good to get the woman to cuddle up to you....I suggest a movie like Signs, or the new one The Village.

Of course women always like to get flowers, a nice bouquet of different flowers such as lillies, daisies....and of course the best are WHITE roses....red roses on a first date are too much.

And women like to be wined and dined...nothing fancy, somewhere nice and cozy.

Twister97 07-30-2004 05:57 PM

Yea, isnt Arby's having one of their specials going on now?

harofreak00 07-30-2004 06:20 PM

message in a bottle

mikey 07-30-2004 06:59 PM

ive been doing the scary moview thing with her, she jumps at the smallest thing, covers up, you name it. i need a romantic movie, like "a walk to remember" or somthing, its been a little over a month, oh and i got her daisies about 2 weeks ago. she's a total sucker for the romantic stuff, but she wont admit it. she always listens to 102.9 because its non stop love songs basically

been about a month and 1.5 weeks, and im totally falling for her, but somtimes i get the feeling somthing else is going on[/list]
so far ive got

ever after
message in a bottle
i think she's seen sleepless in seattle, titanic isn't going to happen...lol

anything else? i suppose somthing like "braveheart" is a good action movie with romance.....but im looking for the all out romantic movies here

BonneMeMN 07-30-2004 07:05 PM

Sleepless in seatle is great IMO.

ssesc93 07-30-2004 07:42 PM

Romantic:

Love & Basketball
Cast Away ( It was sad)
What Women Want (I always wish I knew)
Love Jones
Brown Sugar

Mostly the given ones like when a male and a female are best friends for a while then somehow fall in love.

97NAbonneville1 07-30-2004 07:46 PM

I have not personally seen that movie yet, but that's what I've heard too. Someone said they were in a theater with mostly girls and everyone one of them was crying.

BonneMeMN 07-30-2004 10:26 PM

It was on TV @ bfest..... Groundhog Day!

High fidelity is nice too.

MikesNickname 07-30-2004 10:52 PM

Spiral 07-30-2004 11:56 PM

Get her a dozen roses, 11 red and one white. Have the white one placed in the middle, women love symbolism.... :D

SSsuperchargedEi 07-31-2004 01:19 AM

a walk to remember

city of angels

dont try and be something you're not... if you dont like those kind of movies, dont watch them!!!

scottydl 07-31-2004 01:24 AM

mikey, my wife absolutely loves "You've Got Mail" (I think it's original title was Sleepless in Seattle 2, hehe... but it is pretty good). It's lesser known/remembered than Sleepless so she might not have seen it. It's also a little more modern and you've still got the Tom Hanks & Meg Ryan chemistry... I recommend it for your situation.

How about asking her what she'd like to see?

Oh come now gents! The Horse Whisperer...lol

My fave romantic comedy is You've Got Mail (good call Scotty, didnt think that would get selected) and Pay It Forward (chit..even I cried like a baby at the end of that movie...so sad   )

Great films tho

mikey 08-01-2004 02:42 PM

well i have good news, and bad.........

she didn't go to madison

but she never told me

but her ex apparantly knew, because his car was at her house when i went to leave her somthing :(

SSE14U24ME 08-01-2004 10:38 PM

Sorry to hear that. Everything happens for a reason and sometimes we don't know what that reason is. Don't let it get you down. It just wasn't meant to be. I would at least talk to her and make sure of what happened. Don't assume because you could be wrong. It is always best to hear the truth from the person involved.

mikey 08-02-2004 12:18 AM

i did talk to her today......im not really in the mood to get into the details, but yeah, what i thought was right. im not really mad at her, they were together for a long time, and broke up about things that never happened, but he still didn't treat her right

she's a very confused person, alot of stuff is happening/happened with her, she's the type, she doesn't care if she's happy, she cares more about other's happiness, he takes advantage of that, i can't/won't.

its all good though, its not like she was EVERYTHING i wanted.....oh wait, ya she was

ClearDark 08-02-2004 12:38 AM

That sucks man.

However, watch Saving Private Ryan. Good movie
