My ebay account hacked.
Last week i found that half a dozen items had been bid on and won on my ebay account. They were all penny auctions for random junk. But you won't believe how hard it is to get help from ebay! Every email i got back from them was from a different person and none of them seemed to know what to do. Finally tonight i received an email saying my account had been accessed by an unauthorized third party (DUH! I TOLD THEM THAT) and i needed to take several steps to restore the account. What a trip. I've just about got it straightened out now.

oo yes i know how you feel.
I had a ebay account that was hacked. Someone sold something on it that was like 4K and someone bought it. The buyer did get his money back but i got shafted with the $45 in selling fees. i Emailed Ebay cuz thats the only way to talk to them and they where no help, all they kept saying was "Make sure you change your password and we will look into it."
Never the less they never did anything about it and i was Not going to pay the $45 in selling fees so i let it sit and they locked it o well. Ebay Sucks when you get screwed...

My parents got their paypal hacked, the person bought about $500 worth of stuff that went under the radar because it was around the holiday season. Then paypal called them so they could authorize a $2000 charge, which is when they noticed. They had to move all their money to another account since paypal wasn't going to stop the charge even though they called to authorize since the account was having suspsicous activity. Paypal is so lame...they haven't locked the account yet so the person keeps trying to buy with it and paypal hasn't done anything. Luckily it'* no longer tied to their bank account.

my account was hijacked temporarily and Ebay caught it and sent me an email telling me what had happened and advised me to close out of the email and close my browser and reopen a new browser window and change my password to a strong password. Since then no problems

Hackers have taken to sending people false emails that look genuine and give links to a counterfeit page. It is happening on Ebay ans Myspace. You need to be sure the url in the address bar is genuine before you enter password info.

back in high school, i let one of my really good friends use my password to buy a computer with my ebay account... he won the auction, and then decided he couldnt afford it.. so i was stuck with a $200 computer...
it was actually really cool that it happened to me, i ended up using that comptuer for almost 5 years, just sold it

after that, i changed my password to something even i couldnt remember at first...
i slammed my hands down on the keyboard in a random fashion and got an 8 letter/number password... after about 20 times of entering it i could easily remember it... it has to be the most secure password EVER!
nobody gets me passwords anymore
